UPDATE: President Obama signed the short-term continuing resolution that extends funding for the EB-5 Regional Center Program through Wednesday, March 11, 2009.
AILA is reporting that today, March 6, 2009, the House passed a short-term continuing resolution (H.J. Res. 38) that provides funding through Wednesday, March 11, for the EB-5 Regional Center Program as well as other programs and agencies normally covered by the nine regular FY 2009 appropriations bills that have not been enacted.
In addition to the EB-5 Regional Center Program, the continuing resolution also extended the controversial Basic Pilot (E-Verify) program through March 11.
The short-term continuing resolution will provide time for the Senate to complete action on the Omnibus bill by early next week.
The continuing resolution now moves to the Senate for consideration, where it is expected to pass. President Obama is then expected to sign the measure before midnight today.
USCIS has posted information on how it will handle any failure to extend the program here.
